Image compressor: reduce image file size
Make images smaller for website pages, email attachments, or upload limits. Keep the original dimensions and format to focus on compression, then adjust JPEG or WebP quality, or choose Smart or Lossless PNG. Select Process image and compare the output size and preview before downloading.
Compression savings depend on the source image. If the result is still too large, try smaller dimensions or a different format. An already optimized image may not get smaller, and this tool does not guarantee an exact target file size.
Image converter: change between JPEG, PNG, and WebP
Convert PNG to JPG, JPG to WebP, WebP to PNG, or any other combination of the three supported formats. Upload or drop an image, choose the output format, and select Process image. Keep Original size when you want to change the format without resizing.
PNG and WebP support transparent backgrounds. JPEG does not, so choose a background color when converting a transparent image to JPEG. Converting to PNG does not restore detail lost in a JPEG, and a format change can increase file size.
Image optimizer: prepare images for your website
For a 2400 × 1600 photo that you want to export at 1200 × 800, choose Percentage and select 50%. Alternatively, choose Custom, keep the ratio locked, and enter a width of 1200 pixels. Select JPEG or WebP, set quality, and process the image.
The resulting file size depends on the source image, output format, and settings. Compare the preview and byte size before downloading; reducing each dimension by half does not guarantee that the file will be one quarter of its original size.
Understand the compression controls
JPEG and WebP use a quality setting. Smart PNG reduces the color palette before lossless compression and can change colors slightly. Lossless PNG preserves the pixels produced by the resize or conversion step; it does not undo changes made by resizing.
If an image is already compact, processing may produce a larger file. Check the size comparison and keep the original when the result is not an improvement. This tool processes one image at a time and does not target an exact file size.

Is my image uploaded?
No. Resizing, conversion, PNG optimization, previewing, and export all happen locally in your browser.
What is the difference between Smart and Lossless PNG?
Smart reduces the color palette before OxiPNG compression and may make tiny color changes. Lossless preserves the processed pixels exactly but usually saves less space.
Does Lossless preserve the original after resizing?
Lossless refers to PNG encoding. Resizing still creates new pixels, so only an unchanged-size PNG can preserve every original pixel.
Which output format should I use?
WebP is a strong default for web delivery, JPEG suits photographs without transparency, and PNG suits transparency, interface graphics, and lossless pixel requirements.
